Live Conch shell molluscs live in colonies in sand and weedy areas. They are a staple food of the Bahamas and are used in chowders, salads and as a steak. The conch shell mollusk is not considered fully developed until the flaring tip appears. The Conch, is the common name applied to many species of Molluscs which are members of the Strombidae family. The Conch uses the lip of its shell to dig into the sea bottom, pushing itself along in short, sudden spurts. The Conch is fished for meat, while the shells have many ornamental uses.	Very Fragile
