SEPTEMBER 2000 Newsletter

The Shell Express Newsletter is created by the Sea Shell Shop and sent to
persons who joined and are interested in stories, history and general
information about nautical gifts, lighthouses, shells and hermit crabs. It
provides interesting information about related subjects and possible links
to other interesting sites full of similar information.

It also provides updates on what is available on the Sea Shell Shop site.
Our only catalog is our on line catalog.

I APOLOGIZE:
I had problems with last months newsletter. Just when I went to sent it, in
the middle of the submit the electric for my server who sends it out went
down in Dover, Delaware for over 3 hours. The entire town was down. So the
news letter on my end didn't seem to be sending or working because being 50
miles away I did not realize their electric was down. I resent it and of
course it didn't work again. When they finally went up the server
automatically resent it out again. So you could have received up to four
copies, Depending on where you are on the list depended on how many times
you received it over that same night. I am so sorry.

1) LIGHTHOUSE NEW PRODUCTS AND LINKS

Harbour Lights has just come out with another 12 new This Little Light of
Mine including Thomas Point with all the wire structure. It is a beautiful
piece for $20.
The quality is excellent on this new mini line by Harbour Lights. It will be
up on the site soon.

Lefton is coming out with 24 new Mini's for the late fall. As soon as they
are available they will be up on our site. Mini Lefton's quality is just so
first class and for the price you can¹t compare.

Scaasis Limited Edition of the Moving Of Cape Hatteras is still available.
It is the only piece still available in all the collection series.

We have been in retail a long time, since 1953, but e-commerce is new to
us. Because we are a fairly new site we need your opinions on how to do

3) HERMIT CRAB NEWS

We have been getting a lot of questions about hermit loosing their limbs,
and asking is this molting. Usually this is not molting. This often means
they do not have enough water in their environment. A wet sponge is not
good enough for the hermit. They need a dish of water they can actually get
into if they want without drowning. Hermits do not fair well after they
have lost several limbs but they can make it with water and food near by.
They will regenerate their limbs when they do molt. Usually when they molt
they go under the sand. They do not stay on the surface. Some have found
the exoskeleton and thought it was them dead, but it is not. Make sure you
check to see if he is way in his shell before you throw him away. It is the
time of year many will molt so be looking.
