Flavors of Cape Henlopen Cookbook

A collection of recipes, informative tidbits of local history & food facts and original sketches of Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Dewey  Beach and the surrounding areas.

The Village Improvement Association or "VIA" as it is commonly known is a unique and special organization located in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Within a year of its founding in 1909, its members had accomplished the implementation of crosswalks to improve pedestrian safety. In 1911 it became part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Since then, members have been involved in most major improvements to the town and to the greater community beyond its borders.

Our membership has grown to over 250 members. These members can be seen wherever help and improvement are needed.

The original and second editions of this cookbook were best sellers for over fifteen years. This newly revised Third Edition will continue to be a major source of the funding that provides us with the means to annually give scholarships to Beebe Nursing School, Cape Henlopen High School and the Rehoboth Art League; and will also aid us in providing support to our many community activities and goals. We give to more than twenty-five other worthy causes including Casa San Francisco, Meals on Wheels and the Delaware Hospice.

We appreciate your support.
