A
Heater For Plastic Habitats 5 Gallons or Less.
A Hermit Crab's comfort zone is 72-80 Degrees. That's when they
are the most active, healthy & happy! They become dormant
& lethargic when household temperatures are lower due to air
conditioning & energy-saving winter thermostat settings.
The new 6 watt mini strip heater warms the bottom of the tank
to their comfort zone. The solid state nichrome heating element is
safe, self-regulated, and cost only pennies a day to use.
INSTRUCTIONS: Peel adhesive paper off back of heater &
affix to bottom of glass or plastic habitat. Gently rub heater to
make complete contact with surface. You must use some type of
substrate material on the bottom of your terrarium in order for
the mini strip heater to work properly. It can be a good grade of
indoor/outdoor carpeting without rubber backing. Astroturf, sand,
or potting soil, Wood shaving & corn cob are not advisable for
plastic terrariums with heaters, and are never to be used with
hermit crabs. The reason is that these mediums will dry out the
crabs excessively. Attach the enclosed rubber feet to each bottom
corner of your terrarium. This will slightly elevate your
terrarium & allow any excess heat to escape from the bottom of
your terrarium and cause a stress crack. Always be sure that your
pet's terrarium is large enough to enable it to find an area where
he can rest other than on the the heating pad.

NOTICE: Terrariums made in Malaysia have been known to melt from the heat.
HEATER HAZARDS!!
A Hermit Crab's comfort zone is 72-80 degrees. That's when they are the most active, healthy & happy! If you do not drop your thermometer below 72, you don't have a need for a heater. You can over-heat your hermit crabs causing dehydration. Please be aware of this hazard. Over 80 degrees is not necessary for a happy hermit.
