ITEM # DESCRIPTION SIZE QTY. PRICE
SI110 1 - Astrolabe 7" x 5.5" $185.00
SI140 2 - Hourglass - Hourglasses were invented around the 12th century. By the 15th and 16th centuries, they were in general use on board sailing ships, and were actually used more to help with the timing of the ship's watches than for navigation. Dead reckoning (guessing based on windspeed and weather conditions) was then the main way of establishing where the ship actually was. Small sandglasses were used to help with the log and to find the speed of the ship. Typically, large ship's hour glasses were only made in thirty minute versions. Antique hour glasses of sixty minutes or more were mostly used to time religious sermons. 7-1/8" x 3-7/8" $90.00
SI130 3 - Hidalgo Sundial 6.5" $90.00
SI100 4 - Astrolabe Ring 5" x 4-1/4" $120.00
SI120 5 - Universal Sundial - Our Sundial is a reproduction of the decorative R. Glynne of London original. By pointing the triangular style (gnomon) and the figure XII due North, and placing the marble disc on a flat surface, the dial shadow will tell the sunny hours. Enclosed storycard explains compensating for local latitude. 4.5" x 3.75 $75.00
